MUA Water

Since 1st April 2024 Aquam Water Services has been handling all applications for the hire of temporary water standpipes for use within the MUA Water network.

Our team are on hand to assist both new and existing customers with the standpipe application process and ensure that you receive your metered standpipe quickly and efficiently.

Please note that only approved standpipes obtained through ourselves may be used within the MUA Water network and the use of any other equipment will neither be compliant nor legal and could result in prosecution.

If you witness an unapproved standpipe being used please report it to us either directly to the depot or via a link on this page. All reports are treated in the strictest confidence.

Standpipe Applications

If you would like to process a standpipe application or receive a quote, please complete the below application form and a copy of your application/quote will be emailed to you and the depot for processing.

Standard Charges

22mm Metered Standpipe Rental - £39.00 per week

£632 6 monthly pre-payment
£1,035 Annual pre-payment

40mm Metered Standpipe Rental - £64.00 per week

£798 6 monthly pre-payment
£1,398 Annual pre-payment

Water Usage - £2.61 per cubic metre
(all prices exclude V.A.T)

*Pre payments are non-refundable if the standpipe is off-hire before the end of the agreed term

Delivery & Collection

We aim to deliver as soon as possible to meet your needs, to anywhere within the MUA Water network (price on application), alternatively customers may prefer to collect from their nearest available depot.

Please note you will need to contact the Office prior to your requested collection date to arrange the Off‑hire.

Meter Readings

All our standpipes are now supplied with smart meters that allow us to obtain meter readings remotely. On occasions we will request a meter reading from you and this can be supplied to us by:

Hydrant Use

22/25mm Approved Standpipes are only permitted to be used on wash-out hydrants in the MUA Water Network. Permission to use a 40mm Approved Standpipe must be granted by MUA Water.

The use of Fire Hydrants is strictly prohibited unless prior permission has been given by MUA Water.

MUA Water standpipes are only permitted to be used on hydrants in the MUA Water regions, if you require a standpipe out of these areas, please locate the correct water company via our interactive map and contact the relevant depot.

Calm Network Training

Each user operating standpipe equipment on this network must have a Calm Network Certificate.

On successful completion of the free online Calm Network Training course, operators receive a certificate. Their details are registered on a central database for a year, after which an annual refresher course is required to keep their skills up-to-date.
